Grand Hallway Live!- Aug. 6th at Seattle Center
Seattle Center & KEXP are offering up some great free summer concerts at the Mural Amphitheater in the month of August. I had a chance to chat with Tomo from Grand Hallway about their upcoming show opening up the series -
How has summer been going for Grand Hallway?
It's been a busy summer. We've been playing shows nonstop ever since our tour down to SXSW. The free all ages Mural Amphitheater show we have coming up on August 6th is good opportunity to say thanks to our fans and to KEXP for their support.
Have you played the Mural Amphitheater before?
I've played there a few times with Asahi and the Maldives, and Grand Hallway played there for Folklife back in May. The weather was still a bit iffy back then, so we're looking forward to playing a proper outdoor show in the sun. I've seen tons of bands at the Mural over the years (Modest Mouse, Neko Case, Fruit Bats). It's always a thrill to play right under the space needle.
We're playing Doe Bay Fest in a few weeks. It's a festival out on Orcas Island. There are a ton of rad bands, and the resort itself is beautiful. I'm looking forward to that a lot. After that we've got a show at the Tractor, and then we're taking some time off from shows to start working on our new record. It should be done sometime this fall!
